Vodafone Idea Shares Rally 6% as Subsidiary Raises Rs 3,300 Crore via NCDs; AGR Relief Hopes Lift Sentiment

Vodafone Idea shares surged nearly 6 percent in intraday trade after the telecom operator’s arm successfully raised Rs 3,300 crore through non-convertible debentures (NCDs), boosting investor confidence around its near-term liquidity position.

The fundraising move eased concerns over cash flows and debt servicing, leading to strong buying interest in the stock. Market participants viewed the NCD issuance as a positive step toward strengthening the company’s balance sheet amid ongoing financial challenges.

Adding to the optimism, CLSA noted that the government may consider partial relief on Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR) dues for Vodafone Idea. Any such relief could significantly improve the company’s financial flexibility and long-term viability, according to the brokerage.

Vodafone Idea continues to remain in focus as investors track developments around funding, regulatory support, and potential government measures aimed at stabilising the telecom sector.
